The internet is a vast domain, and it's getting bigger and bigger everyday. So in the sea of information and competition, how do you come out in front and come out on top?
The solution is simpler than you think.
These core principles are essential to any successful venture and have been proven time and time again. Think about where you want to be, think about who is there now, and I'll tell you how these principles got them to where they are now.
We'll go over these one by one.
The first is discoverability

How do you become successful if no one knows who you are? How do you sell or provide services to others if you can't be found?
Let me tell you how - you don't.
The second is retrospection
by Laura Fuhrman on Unsplash.
How do you improve without knowing where you went wrong? How do you correct something that you don't know is wrong? How do you fix a problem that you don't know exists? The most effective way is retro- & intro- spection.
The third principle is engagement
by Alicia Steels on Unsplash.
Say, do you trust that stranger down the road selling you something? No? Why not? Hmm..do you trust Bill Gates to sell you something? Chances are you do, because this guy has social proof of success, he's well know, he doesn't shy away, he engages people.
The fourth principle is consistency
by Bruno Nascimento on Unsplash.
If someone provides shoddy service, are you excited to do business with them? Are you going to suggest their product/service to others? I doubt that. This is key, regardless of the product, heck, even the quality of the product, you'll see results if you are consistent.
The fifth principle is positioning - Why is Windows the most used operating system today? They positioned themselves many years ago, even provided their software free. Why is KFC the go to place for fried chicken? Why is it the first place that comes to peoples' minds when they want to go out for some fried chicken? It's not just because its in the name, its because KFC has positioned themselves to be that way, they've captured peoples mindshare.
Yes that's what its all about - not marketshare, mindshare. Not just marketshare, but mindshare determines your level of success and this is very often overlooked, but the most successful businesses can't afford to overlook this. This is what social media platforms feed on. Not just them, think about it, let me Google that, it's become a verb. Now that's serious mindshare.
