At times, you'll see a bunch of features listed on a service providers website, you don't really know what they main - so you don't really know what you're getting - but you'll be paying for it anyway, so today we'll highlight some of the most important features that you should consider when deciding what features you want in a website .
Security - HTTPS
This is no longer optional for most website owners as Google is now penalising those websites that are not secure.
Mobile
You'll often see this listed as Mobile Responsive or Mobile Site, This means that the website adapts to display well on smaller screens, most people are using their mobile devices to surf the web, so if your site is not mobile responsive, you'll be at a disadvantage.
Email Addresses
This is generally an email address with the websites name eg. if your website is named greatpie.com, you may be offered the email info@greatpie.com or another of your choosing. This looks a lot more professional than using your personal email address.
Lead/Contact Forms
This will allow visitors to your website to contact you by filling the form made available to them, this is a very powerful tool and I would generally discourage getting a website without one of these.
Domain
This is the actual address of the website - eg. mybusiness.com - You can either get these in a package with your website, or buy one by itself.
SEO - Search Engine Optimisation
These are optimisations to your website which will help search engines to more easily process pages on your website and as such increase your ranking on eg - Google. Thus possibly increasing traffic to your site.
These are the most important offerings that you should watch out for when getting a website - if you already have a domain, then you can omit that, same for email addresses. However, the other three, we encourage you to ensure that your website has those features.
We offer all these features and more in all of our packages.
